Bead Making I use a torch called a Lynx, which mixes propane and oxygen. The glass I use is primarily Moretti, which is made in Italy. I also use gaffer glass and boro glass. The glass is heated in the torch flame and wound around a stainless steel mandrel coated in bead release. It is annealed in a digitally controlled kiln, where it is annealed to ensure a strong bead. Each one of my beads are created individually, by hand, one at a time. The end results of my labor are highly collectible, unique and wearable pieces of glass art.
![]() This is me melting the glass on the mandrel. ![]() The beads are then placed in the kiln which is set at 960 degrees. Slowly over several hours the temperature of the kiln is brought down to room temperature to make sure the beads don't crack. ![]() ![]() Here are a couple pictures of my glass assortment.
